380 and Snubbie Users Poll

Re: 380 and Snubbie Users Poll
My usual summer carry is a .357 DAO 5 shot revolver.
Because of this, I try to practice with it a lot. Though I don't get a ton of range time in with it, I do have snap caps, and dry fire every week. In addition, I do shoot it when I hit the range, and will spend more time working with it during the spring/summer (when I'm more likely to carry it over a 1911)

I occasionally, although very rarely, carry a .38 snubby.
My personal standard is that unless what I'm carrying starts with a "4" I consider myself unarmed and adjust my tactics accordingly.

I've shot way more than 300 flawless rounds through my Kahr but it is far from my primary carry piece.

Re: 380 and Snubbie Users Poll
My LCP will be my EDC when I get my plastic (if I ever get it). I have had it only since late May and have already shot at least 400 rounds through it. I believe that if I am going to trust my life and the lives of my children to it, I darn toot'n had better know how it shoots and be proficient with it. I enjoy shooting it more than DH's full size guns. I have 5 different holsters and the CT so I can carry it with whatever I am wearing and have no doubts that I can trust it to protect me.

Went with 2 option, I have a SW642 and LCP as bugs. Have ran alot of rounds threw them but not as much as my other guns. I always run about 20 rounds threw them each range visit when im done with my other shooting. But my 642 hasnt seen a box of +p ammo threw it.

My LCP is a back up, I carry another gun as a primary.

Like many here my .38 is a bug only. I had a .380 but after doing many of the informal water jug tests I switched to the .38 snub. Better penetration with hollow points when you use the right ammo. Trade offs are less rounds and more recoil but its a bug and not my primary so I am not really worried about that.

As for how many rounds I shoot a year? Probably around 6000 a year give or take a thousand. I go 2-3 times a month to the range and put 200-250 rounds down range every time I go.

Re: 380 and Snubbie Users Poll
Guess I missed the "Other" option (man do I need to learn to read better).
I went with "I don't shoot often" because I don't. The only reason I've gotten more than 300 rounds downrange in the last six months is because for two months now I've attended a (monthly) little class/get together that includes between 100 and 200 rounds shot per class, and that's done with a 9mm that is not my primary carry.
In addition, while right now I'm 100% (pocket) carry with my P238, that's only this "month's" flavor. Next month I may be back to purse carry of my other 9mm. Regardless, when I do go to the range (other than for my class), I make a point of including running at least a couple mags thru one or two of my regular carry guns. But again, with this whole "options" thing, it is a little harder to exercise them all regularly.

Other.
As much as I wanted to check #1, I haven't put enough rounds down range lately to qualify.
I usually arrive at the range with my P3AT on my hip and just change mags out for practice. Like some others, I really enjoy shooting it. I'll put at least 50-100rds through it each visit. I also practice tactical mag changes and malfunction drills with it every time I shoot it.
I've put enough SD ammo through it to know what it likes (200+) but, only a few rounds of the Critical Defense ammo I currently carry. I carry my spare mag (OK, 2) full of hollow points I know to be 100% reliable just in case.
I hate to say it but, I probably shoot more rounds out of my KelTec than my Kimber but, then again, I carry it more too.

OTHER-
I haven't fired my LCP yet
. I normally carry my 40 XD SC. I put a 200/300 down range before my CHL class and have gone back since. Still need to take the LCP out but don't think I put much through it. I like it because it small enough to fit in my pocket, with the XD I need my heavy belt for the IWB.
