I think most of my friends are decent people, but some I have not seen since highschool so I don't trust them with the knowledge of what I do and do not do about guns. A place like this is a little different. Just about everyone here at least likes firearms (or understands their usage), and most people on this board own at least one. So this group has a little more leeway in knowing what I do and do not have around my house.

I learned this lesson after one of my family members went on a crazy anti diatribe on one of my posts.
I didn't even know this was possible! But I went and did some research and sure enough...easy to do. Thanks for sharing!

I've had a great friend that we met pre-college. I always thought of him as pretty mod-left and never expected him to be much of a gun person. We friended on FB and I remember putting something out there about guns and recommendations. He nonchalantly responded that he's had a Ruger P-95 for years and it'll eat anything he feeds it. I was mildly taken aback and realized, Hey!, this is Texas. Just about everyone has had a past with firearms in this great state, whether you're lib or conservative. It's not even so much a political thing. It's the environment you grew up in and what you think is the right thing to do. Me? I'll take my guns anytime and I lean to the right. My buddy's leaning left and he'd have just as hard a time giving his up.

With that said, I realize I should keep my gun-related posts to myself when getting on FB from here on out.
