Quick Question: Armed OK at Tx DPS Drivers License station?

Post by Jumping Frog »

Well, I am pretty sure the answer is yes. But since I am standing in line for what looks like the next 2 hours, I figured I have time to doublecheck.

OK to be armed at a TX DPS Drivers License station (Grant Rd Houston) right?

I know most government offices are Ok, but I was surprised when I went to get my cars titled and registered to find the building was posted (there was a courtroom annex at the location). Had to go back to my car and disarm.

Anyway, since I Am killing time, thought I`d doublecheck here.

I believe you are OK as long as there are no court rooms in the same building.

Well, I arrived at 07:30 and finished at 10:45. What a pain.

When my 16 year old and my 15 year old needs to go through this sausage mill every year, I am sending them with my wife.

At least my change of drivers license number and new address for my TX CHL can be done online.

Thanks everyone.

The local DPS office in Conroe seems to be in a scetchy area of town and the county jail is next door. I carried there but went outside after waiting for over an hour on my wife to renew her DL.

I couldn't tell for sure if the jail was attached to the Conroe DPS, and remembered from being there with my daughter last time that I thought there was a JP office in the hallway. I did not carry my 9, but in that area and standing in line in the heat for half an hour then inside for another while I did have my pepper spray.... and my kindle ;-)

It is not posted except a gun busters sign.
