Krav Maga, anyone?

After getting older and (more round) over the years I have decided to get back in the gym and shed some weight while exploring the possibility of getting back into a martial art of some kind. Back in the 80's I took a mixed martial art from Black Dragon Kung Fu-Karate in Beaumont, Texas and am looking at Krav Maga.

This one in particular.

I live in the N. Dallas area and would like to find something close to the casa and this may fit the bill. Any suggestions? Other places, dojo's etc? Other styles? I'm not really interested in competing with the 8 year old next door in katas for my yellow and orange belt.

Krav maga..... All business, not for show.

Did a few years of Tae Kwon Do a long time ago, but have been thinking about KM recently for the same reasons as the OP...
Exercise, weight loss, personal protection.

Not very interested in the art part....

This one is closest to me and has hours I might actually be able to attend... Hate their name though...

There is a place within 5 miles of my home that has classes for Krav Maga that I'm interested in taking. The only thing keeping me from doing it is $$$ and family responsibilties.

I trained in Krav Maga until I had to move last year. I would highly recommend it.

I've spent 12-14 years training in chayon ryu, under the founder in Houston. Robert McClain runs the Arlington branch, and is a solid, capable, honorable person. It's not going to prepare you for UFC cage fighting; it's a classical, traditional martial arts with adults in the class (not a sea of 8 year olds), using more modern teaching methods and a strong focus on biomechanically friendly techniques.
