Bond Arms.....anyone?

I have been to the Bond Arms website and am intrigued by their line of derringers. There are supposedly built like tanks. The barrels are all interchangeable so if I bought a Snake Slayer 45LC/410 derringer, I could at a later date purchase a 9mm, 22LR, or even a 44 mag barrel, and then I'd have a new gun once I swapped the new barrel in.

Like I say, it is an intriguing idea, but I need to know if this is just a fanciful idea of mine, or is it a good idea? Does anyone have a Bond Arms derringer?

Yes, they are built like tanks. Question is your WRIST and HAND built out of titanium? LOL! I'd hate to hold on something that small with it loaded with large shells...

We have one. Won it in a raffle. I wouldn't have bought one, as it is kind of a novelty piece, but now that I have it, we have shot it a few times.

Yes, it is built like a little tiny tank. It is short and fat. You may be able to get 2 fingers on the grip. The trigger pull is forEVER long, and heavy, and then you are rewarded with a kaboom like no other.

But, it is cute as a bug. Everyone wants to hold it. The really brave ones want to shoot it.

I've handled them and was never tempted to buy.

I could never see an extremely heavy (for its size) 2 shot gun with a really crummy grip and a horrible trigger that costs as much as a serviceable, high capacity, concealable Glock as something that made sense for anything but a curio.

I'm not into expensive curios either.

Hmmmmm".."................thanks guys. You probably saved me from a bad purchase idea. Now I can get back to lusting after a Ruger revolver. Either an SP 101 or an LCR357… or perhaps both?

I have one of the .45/.410 cowboy defender models. I like it. It is cool looking and fun to shoot. It is a great conversation starter at the range and after I got mine, two of my buddies got a Bond Arms because they liked it so much. That being said I don't carry it too often. It is very heavy, only two shots, and has a very HEAVY hammer and trigger pull. On the other hand it shoots accurate (enough) and would be an imposing sight for someone looking down the barrels. If I want something to slip into my waist band and run to the corner store, I would not feel defenseless with the Bond Arms for sure.
There are better choices for everyday carry, but if you are like a lot of us and have multiple carry options already and just want it because it is cool, I say go for it. It is not a bad purchase, just so long as you understand what you are getting.
