Opinion please!!

Post by RockingRook »

There will be a gun show this weekend and I am seriously thinking of selling my Glock 27.

I have three 9 rd mags, the original hard case and all that came with it. A High Noon "public secret" IWB holster
and I have night sights on it.

I have fired around 700-800 rds through it and have kept it clean. Shoots great!!

I would like to sell it and go for a new Colt Defender, Kimber or Springfield .40

What do you think I can expect to get for it?

Your opinions will be appreciated!!

I would then suggest clicking on the shopping tab on the left side. ;-)

Unless you sell it to a private buyer at the gun show you wont get much for it. They are in business to make money so they will give you the lowest dollar possible.

Too bad it's a .40, I'd be tempted to give an offer. List it here, you should have no issue selling it.

I have never sold a gun before on-line. How does it work? I was going to take it with me to the gun show this weekend and
see what I am offered for it. If that does not work then I will put it up for sale on-line and/or the newspapers.

Post a thread in the market / buy / sell area of this Forum
Post specifics,
make
model
# of rounds (approx) down the pipe
accessories
# of mags
Etc, etc, etc
Post the price you would like to get, if no one accepts, you can always lower it, but is awfully hard to increase the price
Post pics if you have them.

Post you general area to where you are willing to drive to meet
some want to see a CHL or DL prior to making the transactions, if you want this, post that. If you don't thats fine as well.

if someone accepts your offer, work with them via PM or phone to where to meet, show up, get the money, give the gun.

Thanks for the info. I will think about it and if I cannot sell this weekend I will post it here.

You will make more money selling to to a private buyer, if you sell it to a gun store or a vendor try and see if you can get a deal out of it, sometimes the deal they give you is worth selling it to them.

What I will try to do is go around and first see if they have the "replacement" I want. If they do I will see what they will give me in a trade + $$.
I am looking for the Colt Defender in a .40 or a Kimber UC in a .40. If I can get a deal I will do it and if not
I will then walk around as I have seen many do and try to sell it privately.

I am looking to get $450 for it. I have put Fiber Optic Night sights on it which cost me $120 and I have three 9 shot mags. The mags with the pinky
extension. The gun shoots very well and I cannot have fired more than 500-700 rounds and I am just guessing. Probably closer to 500.

I paid $450 for the gun a couple years back and added about $175 in the sights and mags. I have a left handed $100 IWB holster that was formed for that
Glock and I will no longer have use for it. So that goes as well.

If I cannot get $450 for it I will just keep it. It is a great little gun.

$375 to $400 if it is a straight sell to a dealer. If you sold it from a table or a dealer's table it would probably go for $475 to $500, especially if no paperwork was involved. I would try the forum here first.
Or trade it in on something else at the gun show.

I wouldn't go higher than 90% of the GSSF price, but there are buyers willing to pay a premium for no paperwork.

I think I did great!!

Went to the gun show today and saw the gun I wanted.

I got the Springfield EMP .40. Came with 3 8 rd.mags and trijicon night sights. New!!

I traded my Glock 27 + $500. I figure I got somewhere in the vicinity of $450 for my Glock.

The Springfield EMP is a 3" barrel on a 1911 frame. Has cocobolo[?] wood grips and a stainless slide.

The trigger seems flawless. Have to wait till Tuesday to shot it but it looks and feel like a really great gun.
