If this topic has been mentioned somewhere else I apologize.

I was watching the “National Geographic “ channel a couple of days ago and they had a show called “War on the Border” or something like that. They covered the David Hartley tragedy and the murder of Agent BrianTerry but they repeated the old lie that 90% of the cartel guns come from the U.S. and did not mention “operation gun walker”.

So here I am explaining the 90% lie and “operation gun walker” to my wife, daughter and son-in-law.

I sure wish the NRA would “call out” Nat Geo on this and insist they get their story straight and tell the whole story if they are going to do a piece like this.

I am posting this because although I am a member of the NRA, I figure they would pay more attention to you and if numerous other members of this forum sent them a message.

I am still steaming. :mad5

I think the "Border Wars" series were completed before the agent's murder -- probably filmed 2009/2010 since it was first shown in 2010. Similarly, although Operation Gunrunner had been in operation since 2005 (+/-), the underop of Project Fast and Furious did not start until (late?) 2009 so probably NGS was not given access to that info or simply could not report it in national security interests. Can't blame NGS - now ATBF, AG office, POTUS, yeah - they need the heat.

The left media can produce any propaganda they want and there is no legal way to stop them.

True, but you can raise a stink about it.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Thank you. That is what I was suggesting. :tiphat: Maybe I didn’t make myself clear. My bad.

While I do think the NRA came to the gunwalker party a bit late, I do remember getting several NRA e-mails about it, some of them mentioning how this makes their bogus 90% number even more bogus.

I think it a little unreasonable to expect them to go after every producer of every piece of media that parroted the number without fact checking. It's easier to counter propaganda with counterpropaganda.
