NPR discovers women shooters

Post by seamusTX »

All Things Considered, National Public Radio's flagship news program, had a piece today about women shooters. The story originated with NPR affiliate WFAE in Charlotte, North Carolina.

They interviewed a woman CHL holder, a gun store owner, a spokeswoman for the NRA, and an instructor.

They broke the usual "fair and balanced" approach by not interviewing a representative of the Bradys or any other anti-RKBA shill. Maybe they couldn't find one in North Carolina. ;-)

I think it's a positive sign (though I'm sure someone will find nits to pick).

I've always enjoyed NPR, and I'm really glad to see them run such a positive story on firearms. My wife and I plan to go into training specifically for womens self defense in the coming years, so we're glad to see more and more females taking a interest in self defense. If someone, be they male or female, wants to learn how to defend themselves they should definitely have the opportunity to do so. :txflag:

I've listened to NPR for years. There is no other network equivalent for interesting news on "all things".
I have found them to be fairly balanced, more so post-GWB, oddly enough. Cokie Roberst and a few others hated George, and you could hear it in their choice of words.
But my radio stays on NPR about half the time, AM talk radio the other half. That's my version of "balanced" ;-)
