This is most unfortunate, if true:http://www.whptv.com/news/local/story/U ... uUT4w.cspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; In front of the shop owner the husband got out his own loaded gun. It fired, hitting [the victim].
The coroner ruled the death a homicide:

My feeling is that this was a disastrous accident. If the husband wanted to whack his wife, he could have devised a better cover-up without witnesses. However, anything is possible.
This story is now worldwide news, BTW. Pretty much every unusual shooting in the U.S. becomes that.

The story did state that the word homicide was used as a technical term, not as an actual criminal charge...
Also, since I know a significant number of you folks absolutely LOVE your small DAO pistols, someone tell me: how stiff is the trigger pull on those little Kel-tec 9mm pistols? Are they "always cocked", ready for the trigger to release the "hammer", or is it like the DA first pull of a DA/SA like my old P-89? Which, BTW, does have a safety, too...but even if that was off, you kind of have to INTENTIONALLY pull the trigger to let off that first shot. Curiosity...
