Returning A Glock For Repair

Post by carlson1 »

I need to return a G21SF to have the magazine release repaired. Have any of you sent a Glock back for repair? I went to their website and cannot find an email. Would you suggest calling them?
Thanks

Call them, I just sent a Gen 1 G17 back to them for a customer. It only took about 2 weeks to get it back.

Remember the old Maytag Repairman commercials?
...Poor guy just sitting around waiting for a Maytag to break down.

I wonder if that's how it is at the Glock repair facility?

Perhaps it was prior to the Gen4 guns, but they learned that those people needed work too.

Maybe email them first to make sure you have a trail of some kind. Only send the firearm and be sure to do it how they prefer.

Also, take eveything else out of the box, be as plain in the packaging as allowed and I would probably go as far as placing a copy of the email in the box, along with a sticker, piece of tape on the pistol, with name, address, etc....

Why don't you just buy the part from Glockmeister or someone and do the repair yourself rather than sending your pistol back to Glock? Three dollars for the part VS the charge to send the pistol.

The replacement of a mag catch is a very simple thing to do.

One of the fellers working at Bullet trap replaced mine a couple years ago. It took him all of three to five minutes and then said "no charge". I went ahead and gave hime a twenty and said thanks. Do it yourself or take it to a local gunsmith. I bet they won't charge you more than ten or twenty bucks.

I understand. Two of mine know how to get back to the factory by themselves. One of them has frequent flyer miles.

thanks, man, glad you did so I didn't have to. :patriot:

Glock's, and M&P's are good, good gear but stuff happens, though Glock parts are way more available the M&P at this point in time.

Talked to Glock this morning. They want me to send in the whole frame and they will send me a brand new frame. Just changing the magazine release must not be sufficient for them.
