LAPG Bail Out Bags

I have decided to get my wife and I each a LAPG Bail Out Bag.

The purpose is to keep them in the vehicles with standard emergency equipment.

Problem is I am having a hard time deciding on which size to get.

LAPG Tactical Bail Out Gear Bag

or

LA Police Gear Jumbo Bail Out Bag

Do any of you have one of them or something similar? If so any advice on which one to get?

My opinion, definitely go with the bigger one. You'll end up putting more into it than you think.

The smaller one will fill up in a hurry and you'll wish you had gotten the bigger one in the first place.

That is my thought too but just not sure how much stuff the smaller one could actually hold. Plus my wife is rather small and do not want to get her something that she cannot comfortably handle in an emergency.

If you expect to carry it by hand for a long time/distance, don't get the Jumbo unless you're built like a linebacker. To the left. if its purpose is to sit in the trunk of the car and keep gear organized, go with the Jumbo.

I have the regular BOB and the Junior and the regular can get real heavy real quick.

I guess it depends on what a persons definition of a BUG out bag means. To me it means being totally self sufficient for three days of survival without any outside help. This would include food, water, toilet paper, blanket, first aid, ect. And of coarse a means of self protection. In my experience, this requires a large bag or at least two smaller bags, in which case regular duffel bags are all that would really be needed.

Now if you're only talking about a gun, ammo, and a flashlight, then the smaller bag that is shown in the link would be just fine.

I prefer a rucksack to a handbag if I'm carrying a significant load for an extended time/distance. YMMV.

I have the LAPG bailout bag (small one). Got it free with some promotion the one and only time I've ordered from them.

It's a decent bag, built well enough. But the carbine mag pouches will NOT easily hold Magpul PMAGS (they fit standard metal AR and AK mags)

Overall, not bad. But the similar 5.11 Tactical bailout bag is better (and likely also more $)

I use an Alice bag. 3 days worth of everything I need short of Gasoline for the truck. Oh, and Toilet Paper... thanks for the reminder.

Also a bug out bag has a different purpose than a bail out bag, and both may be different than a go bag depending on the person.

Given your intent (trunk emergency kit) you can't miss the mark for $19 ea.

Like others have pointed out, if what you're looking for is a true 'bug out bag' you'll want something more substantial. An Alice-pack, molle bag, or (what I chose) a decent backpack may serve the need better. But if all you want is an emergency kit for the trunk, the LAPG bail out bag may be the ticket. JMHO
