How about this?!? The lab grown human skin infused with spider silk and Goat milk was strong enough to stop a speeding er well "chugging along at a good clip" bullet!!!

So if Spiderman drinks some goat milk, will he be bullet proof like Superman?

Wow, just another step towards building an army of Übermensch or Ubersoldat I guess.

I think I'd want a couple long-term studies done before they injected me with that stuff.

A "reduced speed" .22LR was "Chugging along at a good clip"?
Maybe it was chugging along, but a reduced speed .22LR is going to have trouble penetrating normal human skin, even without the enhancements.

Well I was about to say that it could've been a revolver or a fixed-magazine rifle, but then I saw what you did there...Dragonfighter wrote:It's not a CLIP!jimlongley wrote:A "reduced speed" .22LR was "Chugging along at a good clip"?

Did you ever notice that Superman would just stand there with his hands on his hips, smiling as bullets deflected off of him, but when the BG ran out of bullets and threw the gun at him, he would duck?

I used to be bulletproof. That was when I was also incredibly good looking and knew everything. Let's see, I think that was just about a half century ago. Where did the time go?

I believe you're missing the point... They used human cells and successfully combined them with spider silk to create a hybrid skin that was able to stop a projectile fired from a gun.
If they use this as a jump-off and possibly make it stronger or use it layered it just may revolutionize not only the weight/bulk of the best current body armor but so many other avenues and applications.
The tensile strength of the Darwin Bark spider is rated at about twice as tough as Kevlar...
