This is nothing new, Ruger had SP-101s in .22 LR and 9mm a couple of years back. I am not surprised they brought it back and I know the 9mm SP-101 go for a pretty penny being that they are quickly becoming a collectors item.

I would really like another manufacturer to make a good 9mm revolver again. I don't think the Taurus or the S&W offering are good for anything other than a pocket gun. I like single and double action shooting and the Taurus and S&W are DOA. A good condition SP101 in 9mm is really hard to find and expensive when compared to the same gun in a different caliber.
The new .22 SP101 looks like a replacement for the single six with double action capability.

In addition to releasing an 8 shot instead of 6 shot 22, this new model has a rear sight which is fully adjustable. Very nice features for a Kit gun.
