i just got my first revolver a bodyguard 38
it says .38 spl +p on the barrel of the gun
in the manual it says i can use .38 spl +p or .38 spl
i was at walmart looking at ammo and saw 38 special
is that the same as .38 special?
and will the .38 spl +p say 38 special +p on the box without the decimal point?

Re: ammo help
It is the same. There are some great online places for ammo that are just as good if not better than your local stores. I am a big fan of Cheaper Than Dirt and Buds Guns. Plus they bring it to your door step. Good luck.

Re: ammo help
yes, a box marked .38 Special is the same ammo as a box marked 38 Special, they just dropped the decimal point. Also, .38 + P will always be marked as such , and to make it even more confusing, .38 special is really .35 caliber! Welcome to the world of .35 Special! Great gun, and a great cartridge IMHO.

Another good source for .38 Special and +P ammo that I have used in the past is Ammunition to Go, down near Brenham. Order online, shipped to your house...they carry a pretty decent selection, too. Good luck and enjoy.
