Halloween night, the whole family was able to participate in a pumpkin and zombie shoot under low light conditions! Was great fun for all, even though we were not on the top of the scoring ladder. I learned you don't bring a wheel gun to a zombie invasion unless you are MUCH faster on the reloads than I (17 shot scenarios is not friendly for a 6 shooter, but sure enjoyed the practice with my snubby). I also learned I need to source some glow in the dark paint for my snubby's front site as the safety orange is not so obvious in near dark.
Today, Hubby and I participated in a strong hand/weak hand drills and skills class. VERY educational, and while I pray to NEVER be one handed, much less off-handed, I learned some valuable skills I plan to practice often. We learned to draw from a holster and do slide-lock reloads one handed with both strong and off hands. Was very challenging, and sure made you think through some issues. Especially when you are using a retention holster.
Make sure you practice to off hand draw with a fake or unloaded gun, because you can be sweeping the world!Good break in for the new slide on my M&P9C! (and my left hand). While I try to do a mag or two off hand each time I am at the range, I will definitely be doing more!
