As inexpensive as the rifles are, just get another one and try it........can't have too many, can we? I just lost the magazine/trigger assembly retaining screw on my last range trip. You wouldn't happen to have a spare lying around anywhere would you? :cheers2:

I added a replacement trigger to my Mosin (and Enfield) from Huber Concepts that has made my Mosin much more accurate and pleasant to shoot. They're not cheap when considering how inexpensive the rifle is, but they are drop in and can be swapped in/out easily with the stock trigger.

Resulting pull is around 3.5 lbs. For what it's worth, it made much more of a difference on the Mosin. The Enfield improved only slightly - I guess the original trigger was pretty good.

As for it being "painful", I have a Mosin Nagant M44 carbine. The shorter length means it has quite a kick. I bought a medium LimbSaver slip-on buttstock pad which I put on it for long shooting sessions. It works wonders.

Problem is my wife says the same about her purses"Can't have to many" I beg to differ but what do I know. I think I am going to get a quote on getting the sight removed and the bolt handle moved/bent. It seems like a decent shooting weapon. Just need some mods and a butt pad.

Looks pretty good to me.
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere. -Thomas Jefferson

I got a quote for $60 to remove the rear sight and do a bent bolt from a guy up in Ponder,Tx. I am going to call around and see what others will change also. Any suggestions?

Rock Solid makes a really good mount that is attached at 3 different points in order to better hold zero. If you're going to get the bolt handle bent anyway, it might be worth the extra investment. They sell a bent bolt assembly, but I think it's out of stock (and you have a better deal on the table anyway) - http://www.rocksolidind.com/mosin-nagant.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Try something like this...
http://www.amazon.com/ATI-Mosin-Nagant- ... B002ZVMJCO" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Comes with everything you need to make the swap.
I'll do this when I get around to it.

I ordered one of the bent bolts from them, so far I have sent 2 emails and no response the order page says complete but I have no package yet and no tracking info, it has only been a week so I am not overly worried, but the lack of response from the emails just screams poor customer support. I will call on Monday and see what kind of response I get.
