Gander Mountain Gun Range
I was at the Gander Mountain near I-45 and Cypresswood Dr. That store has a new small indoor gun range and is planning to offer shooting classes. The range fee is high at $25. A store employee said that the range has been there for about a month.

That may not be all that high when one figures in the cost of fuel to get out of town to a shootin' place - and back.

It's $25 per hour, unlimited shooters (only 2 in the lane at a time), as many weapons as you can carry and they supply all of the targets.

25 an hour? Who can afford that on any kind of regular basis?

If you are like me an only need to shoot for an hour it blows away CC. I can spend upwards of $60 when I bring my arsenal to CC for an hour.

Per gun or per shooter. I bring 5 or 6 of my guns or if I bring the wife and 2 boys it costs me quite a few dollars. Wife and kids last about an hour and then they are ready to go. Gander just does not have the distance for a rifle. But at $25 it actually is beneficial for me to get some pistol practice in.

Re: Gander Mountain Gun Range
Anyone understand the reasoning behind this? What difference does it make if I shoot an hour out of one gun, or 30 minutes out of each of two guns? It sounds like the kind of thing people do when they ask "What else can we charge for?"stroguy wrote:Per gun or per shooter.
