MSAR STG-556

My friend brought one of these MSAR STG-556 rifles to the range last time we went.
I found this bullpup rifle incredibly fun to shoot. It was the flat-top version, and we a red dot on it.
Only issue I had with it was the magazine change. I imagine it just takes some getting used to so you can be proficient.
I have also heard that MSAR has gone under. :(

Any opinions out there, on this Steyr AUG clone?

I prev owned one. I sold it in the summer of 2010.

I loved the balance of the weapon. But yes, at that time, I could see the writing on the wall for the bankruptcy issue. And, this year, they did declare bankruptcy.

A place called Ratworx (you can google it) does supply some parts and service on them. Therefore, you can get some parts, but not all parts.

Anyway, I liked the rifle, but it was only 100% with 30 rounders. I had a few jams with 42 rounders. That experience showed me that when ya DID get a jam, it can be a major headache clearing it. Two times, I had to pull the barrel and slightly take the receiver out of the stock to clear it. That led me to believe itw asn't a good a problem arises rifle.

I did get the two 42 rounders replaced by MSAR (this was prior to their bankruptcy), and I decided to sell the rifle.

I bought the rifle from Shipwreck and found it very handy and accurate, but not the most reliable system on the market. Same here it jammed on me a few times when clean and dirty both steel and brass cased ammo and it was a major pain to clear the malfunction. The barrel pops off really quick, but if a round is jammed up the barrel did not want to release and slide out. It ended more than one of my range sessions b/c of a failure. If they were cheaper I would own one again, but for the money they go for I moved on and put my money elsewhere.
