Thanks man. If CCI makes longs I wonder why Walmart only sells shorts.

...here's a few...I don't think the power's any different...still just primer compound powered...but they are easier to load than the stubby little shorts and will keep the chamber from becoming fouled as much if you also shoot LR in the rifle/handgun...

...I hope what you meant to say was CCI CB Longs, not Long Rifle...any product by CCI marked Long Rifle will be a powdered, full-strength load...CB Long will be the primer-powered only loads...
...looooooooooooooooong ago, most companies made .22Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle...haven't seen a regular Long cartridge in years and years...don't know if they're even made anymore...a brick of .22 shorts(500 rds.) was $5.50 back then...I shoulda stocked up!!!

Yup, the old man is set. They were way quieter than I thought they would be. I was very impressed!!speedsix wrote:...same it...you got the right one...got a recipe for squirrel?
They weren't too quiet out of a pistol though....but out of that old Rossi pump the loudest part of the whole process was it hitting the target.
No, no squirrel recipes. We might need a good rabbit recipe though if you got one.

...never ate rabbit...but I've always heard to only eat them in a month with an R in it...due to parasites in the summer...that might work in the civilized world, but how do you figure it out with TEXAS weather...

Aguila .22 Colibri is very quiet out of a 10/22 - it won't cycle the action, but it certainly has enough power for bunnies. (Have to re-zero the rifle, though.)
An RWS M48 air rifle with "Superdome" pellets is also good bunny medicine out to maybe 35-40 yards or so - beyond that, groups grow faster than the range increases.
As for sound disturbing the neighbors - both the Colibris and the M48 are relatively quiet, and neither sounds like a gunshot to the great unwashed masses, especially if only one shot is fired. Both are even quieter if fired from an open window with the muzzle located several feet inside the house.

...I considered buying one of their Whisper airguns...but quality reports on the net steered me away from Gamo...seems the newer guns' quality isn't up to the earlier ones...

+1 for CB's. I use them ih my bolt action 22's and my 7.5" Super Single Six with great results.
Re: Air Gun Suggestions for My 65 yr old Dad Please
...how quiet are they in that long-barrelled revolver??? I use them in my 4" and they seem about half as loud as a .22 short...Carry-a-Kimber wrote:+1 for CB's. I use them ih my bolt action 22's and my 7.5" Super Single Six with great results.

They are about as qiet as quality sub sonics through my bull barreled 10/22. Def not as quiet as they are through a bolt gun but pretty quiet nonetheless.speedsix wrote:...how quiet are they in that long-barrelled revolver???
