Yeeeeeahhhhhh.....our CHL teacher said it's currently taking about 8 weeks. He said it can take a little longer over the holidays.

Turn arounds have been quite amazing, and well under eight weeks. You will have it much sooner than you think! Good to have you here.

:iagree: I went 16 days mailbox to mailbox back in the summer. I know that was silly fast, but I agree with RJ that turnaround times have been pretty quick, for the most part.

Good luck and welcome! :txflag:

:hurry: :clapping: :hurry:

Well today is 12/21/2011 and nothing has changed since 12/13/2011. Background still under review to close to Christmas for DPS to do any work! I'm sure they are having some pretty good partys instead of working. My son sent his app off on the same day as I did and DPS received it on the same day as they received mine and it still says on their web site Waiting on materials to be received. The sad thing is I know for a fact that there is nothing wrong with either background, not even a traffic ticket. Does anyone know how the process works? and why it woukd be taken so long? Sorry about all the rambling on and on. :mad5

While I still haven't actually received my plastic yet, the waiting seems to get monotonous. Amazing how one little change in the status makes all that go away.

Be patient and keep checking. I have a feeling you will have it either before the new year, or shortly after. Then again, I could be wrong and you may not get it until October of 2013........................ "rlol"

My "background check under review" took about 3 weeks. That is the longest part of the entire process. I have never been arrested, spent 20+ years in Air Force, Top Secret clearance, cleared for hazardous duty etc etc etc.
Why did it take so long? Maybe because they are slow at times. Like everyone else the wait for me was very frustrating but then the status changed to "manufacture" and everything went fast from there.

Try not to look at the status more than 3 times a day. You will get it soon!!
