Sig P-239 with nite sites

If you haven't shot a 239 before, I would recommend doing it first. I bought one for carry because I thought my 229 would be too big, but I loved it.

The stock grips on the 239 are weird. Sort of too short, and oddly flat on the front that when coupled with the already top heavy Sig design makes it a bit unwieldy...front and top heavy. It is also probably the widest single stack on earth.

Not trying to talk you out of it, because they are great guns, and I still carry mine all the time, but they are anti-ergonomic.

I already have it!! I bought it Sunday. I have shot a Sig before but not the 239. I know a little about the ergonomics of it and already have
Hogue grips in mind for the gun. Thanks for your input but I think I will not have any problems. I am going to the range today.

I have not shot my gun yet, I will go today. I have a feeling I may not need the new grips.
My hands are not that big and they fit the grip now without curling my finger under the grip.

I had a Glock 27 which had a short grip but I learned to shoot it comfortably by curling my
finger under the grip. I think the same will be true with the Sig and it has a longer grip than the Glock.

As far as the "slickness" of the stock grips. I may or may not put a piece of black silicone tape wrapped
around the grip to give it more "stickyness" but I may not even do that.

A small problem with the Hogue grips are they will add a very small amount of thickness to the gun
which may or may not cause it to be a little more difficult to conceal.

All of the above is speculation on my part until I shoot the gun.

Went to the range today and put abut 150 rds through my new sig. No malfunctions at all!!

Any question about the ergonomics of the sig were answered. In my hands the sig felt good and after
the first 3 magazines my bullet placement became more consistent and tighter grouping. I need more
practice but the gun feels good and I have no fears of using it now as my CCW.

Any question about the ergonomics of the sig were answered. In my hands the sig felt good and after

Thanks!! I have now put the Hogue grips on it and it feels even better. Have to take it out to the range again probably later in the week.

Between the Sig and my EMP they are both a toss up as to which is the better shooter. Really like them both!!
