Mojo, that is the beautiful thing about living in this country and especially TEXAS!!! We all have a right to carry what we want, and we have the ability to have multiple carry weapons. I have full size 1911's, however I'm a big guy and it is a little more difficult to conceal than a smaller weapon. I know guys that are VERY thin that carry full size with no issue. Us fat guys have love handles that get in the way and push the gun out unless we tighten way the heck up on our belts and then it digs into our sides. Skinny guys don't have that issue.
You have the right to dislike the 3" 1911. I understand some have issues with it. Well, if you read my range report, you would know that this pistol has eaten and spit out everything I have thrown at it. From 230 FMJ in 3 brands, 200 gr lead SWC handloads, 230 grn LRN, 200 grnLRN reloads. I can't make it hickup. So should I be afraid to carry it? Is the performance from the short barrel going to be less effective than a 9mm from a short barrel ?
I have put enough rounds through this 3"er to know that anybody in front of it should not only be afraid, but say their prayers. I shoot my PT111 very well, and the new PF9 does well, however I can shoot this Ultra Carry much more accurately. I'm talking 8 shots from 10-12 yards you can cover with a 50 cent piece. That would be 1840 grains of lead punched through that hole versus 920 grains if I could make the 9mm's do the same.
OUCH.

Carry safe and carry when and where you can. I'm just sayin'.
