Spent some time at a range today.

Post by G.A. Heath »

I spent some time at the range with my latest acquisition and another rifle. I will say that I am somewhat on the fence about this rifle, the trigger is long and heavy (but with a great reset). The factory iron sights are worthless for quick acquisition due to the small aperture in the rear flip up sight.

PM me and I'll arrange to take possession of the rifle if you'd like

How do you rate the compactness of it?

I think the compactness and the weight are the only benefits to those rifles. The grip is strange, the trigger is long, and the place for your forward grip is awkward. They shoot great, are accurate, and reliable. But hard to get used to if you have familiarity with the AR platform.

I agree about the iron sights and think a red dot is the way to go for sure.

The short overall length is the only real advantage to the FS2000. Its wider and taller than my Ruger SR-556 while weighing about the same (The Ruger is 6 ounces heavier). I plan to do a good comparison of the two rifles but for the money I think the Ruger has more appeal for the money outside of looks, and it has better sights IMHO.
