Cerakote Finish

I just saw an advertisement in America's First Freedom that Kel-tec is now producing guns with Cerakote finish. I have still been looking for a parkerized PF-9. I wonder what, if any, benefits cerakote would have over parkerized? Anybody familiar with this process?

If it's anything like Duracoat (which I believe it is) it's a vast improvement over parkerizing in terms of durability/rust-proofing and ease of maintainence (almost "oil-less" with only lube needed for function, not rust preventative)

My Mossberg 500 is Duracoated and I haven't put oil on the non moving parts since painting it. Same for an older carbon steel S&W j frame I keep in my truck year round in all climates (only a few drops of oil on moving parts)

No, it is nothing like Duracoat. This is baked on ceramic.

I've read its more durable than Duracoat. There's also an air-dry version available.
