Dallas officer's gun stolen

Post by XnTx »

http://www.wfaa.com/news/crime/Man-gets ... 10403.html My apologies if this has already been discussed. The details are a little lacking, but it was still a teachable moment coming home with the wife tonight. I told her if you have to use your weapon do not fire once. Fire until the threat is stopped or your run out of ammo. Surprisingly, she agreed. I think she's ready for her CHL and an XD9SC for her birthday!

Agree details are lacking - but... I'm thinkin there is a little more to this story. Does not quite pass the first sniff test.

@Speedsix -- She is in a POV - it is 1AM and 30+ degrees, POV window is open. Bad guy approaches with knife - gets close enough to harm, she fires one round, bad guy still takes gun. Now admittedly - I used to do the lake patrols with window open all year long so I could hear 'stuff' - but if someone was approaching - two things are gonna happen, I'm leaving to a standoff position or I am warning to come no closer. I am probably wrong on this officer loosing the weapon - it just looks (and smells) kinda off...

...I think any woman who's been hit and cut would empty the mag into her attacker...not just fire one shot...and then let him take the gun from her...they didn't mention blood being found, just that they "thought" she hit him...this reminds me of another tale told years ago...they later found that the ossifer'd hocked his gun...time will tell....one possible is if she fired once and the location of the gun kept it from cycling, rendering it out of action...

She probably needs to be pulled for hair and urine just to be sure.

...I would think that's standard for a shooting or accident...but if it's not it should be...
