Taurus .357 Magnum snubbie

Just recently switched from a Sig 9mm to a .357 mag 2" revolver for my daily carry. the Sig was a wonderful weapon but it was just too big for my EDC so i swapped it out with a hammerless, .357/.38 in blued finish.

great little pistol but i longed for the hammered, SA option and so i traded that one off for a hammered, stainless finished version of the same weapon.

so here she is, my new carry!

i'm about 50% through a complete polish job and will be changing the grips to some nice, wooden ones once im finished polishing.

the grips i'm looking at are from Thailand - gorgeous rose wood for about $50 shipped.

target wasn't too bad, out of 20 shots fired from ~20ft away, 19 made it into the 8" circle.

Can you give me an idea about how much to expect to pay for one and where to get it? I'm fixin to have to help a girl buy something and that's kinda the direction I am trying to lead her. It just came up today and I haven't had time to research the Taurus and S&W and the difference in money.

Nice choice. I love the wheel guns, especially with hammers.
I have several carry options, but reach for the S&W60 most of the time (thanks Carlson - still loving it).

You may want to have your friend rent one before buying it. Since you're helping her buy a gun I'm assuming she's not experienced. A .357 out of a snubnose is a big round from a small frame. My daughters love to shoot, but hate my snubnose, even with .38's.

I just thought a .357 would make it easier to sell later. My idea would be to carry .38s in it. She's in her early 40s and about 6 feet tall and about 175 so I think she will be OK with a .38 snubbie. My main thing is a revolver to keep it simple and reliable. Something with a 3" or 4" might even be better.

I completely agree. I like the simplicity of the revolver, especially for new shooters, and snubbies are easy to conceal and handle for someone who is 6' 175lbs.
