Theres are what I have in it now even after fully charging them I get maybe 30 lumens.

I would like to find rechargeable batteries that work like the brand new duracell I put in it yesterday.

NiMH runs around 1.2v nominally so I'm not surprised you don't get the advertised output. That's probably only achievable with fresh (1.5v) Alkaline batteries, assuming it's not overly optimistic marketing.

There may be better choices, but I've settled on eneloop NiMH (AA) for my utility lights and brand-name lithium (CR123) for my emergency lights. And lithium-ion (14500) from HK for tinkering.

I've got the Smith. Works great with regular batteries.

I get 4-6 months out of my regular batteries. But I carry often and use sparingly. Usually 30 seconds to a minute, once ora twice athe week. Rechargeable batteries have always been a hassle for me unless it's something used all the time like cell phone, laptop, etc.

I got hooked on the Nebo Redline lights last summer. AAA batteries that last me about four months each set. I use mine every day for no more than 10 minutes total each day. 220 lumens at 100% and a strobe.

Even my wife likes it and wanted another one for herself.

I also picked up this little gem for my G21. It uses one little CR123 battery, which I detest, but it seems like that's the way to go with a light for a hand gun. 190 lumens and a laser.

So its not really the fact they are rechargeable. I figured as much. I just could swear when I first bought these with the charger they were a lot brighter than they are today. and its a Cree bulb so that shouldn't be an issue. Sounds like I use mine a bit more than most which I figured I may.

I only wanted a light with just a constant and a high output. no strobe, no low, and with striking bevels. I was willing to spend a hundred seems like the more you are willing to spend the more bells and whistles are on it.

IIRC the Rayovacs are about 1,400 mAh. Although this should not affect the brightness; it will have an effect on the amount of time that they can be used. The low mAh means that you must recharge them more often. In my experience, the more you recharge them the weaker they become. I have a back-up battery pack for my 2M handheld radio. When using a higher rated mAh battery (2,700 mAh) the transmit output reaches a further distance. I have no clue if your flashlight will be brighter when using a batter with a higher mAh battery.

I think its the fact that I bought about 2 packages of these batteries plus the 2 that came with the charger and just had used all of those-had to recharge them-then the problem showed up. So they may have been good to go "out of the box" but thats alright they are serving other purposes and I will just have to buy different batteries for my light.

Did you leave them in long enough to recharge fully?
