Ha!

Thanks for the welcome.

My son brought home a sign from UT, though I don't know if it was ever posted, that said something like:

"Notice to Criminals - this area has been designated as a special victim zone - all law abiding citizens have been disarmed for your convenience - Thank You - The Management"

Kinda gets to the point, doesn't it?

Cheers.

We all know that this is what happens when BG's see these "No Guns" signs, right?

I'll cheer for the Texans when I'm allowed to carry at their games. :reddevil

Really pushing the term IMO. Entertainment is more likely, they arent really competing like football and such.

Given that they post racing results after the event, they are sanctioned by the Unites States Hot Rod Association, and the drivers win prize money, I wouldn't want to count on it not being considered a professional sporting event.

:iagree: Definitely a professional sporting event. It's their 'profession' and Monster Truck racing is considered a sport http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_truck" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And - in the Reliant PARK [Not merely the stadium] "Prohibited Items" policy, firearms are bundled with other items:
Not permitted into Reliant Park facilities are inclusive of, but not limited to, the following:
Video or audio recorders or similar devices
Professional camera equipment or lenses over 12" in length
Laser pointers
Weapons/firearms
Air horns/whistles or other noisemakers
Backpacks, large bags 11" x 17" or sealed packages of any kind
Bottles or cans
Coolers or containers
Fireworks Frisbees, beach balls, etc.
Outside food or beverage (Exceptions are made for medical reasons and baby food)

SO... beach balls, Frisbees and firearms are all deemed "prohibited."

IMO - No ride, within the fence of Reliant Park - just a request to leave.
****Inside stadium -- during a Sporting Event -- enjoy the ride.

Does anyone have a legal citation to refer to that might clarify the subject?

If the facility is owned by the government (city, county or state), then they can't post and enforce a 30.06 sign per Texas Penal Code 30.06 (e)
The 'policy' above does not even legally prohibit a CHL holder from carrying even at a privately owned facility; not valid unless they post a 30.06 sign.

If there is a professional sporting event taking place, then it is off limits by TPC 46.035 (b) (2) http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/d ... /PE.46.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

And if you had carried, you would have been committing a crime. You may not have been caught at it, but it still would have been a crime.

After rereading my post I realized it sounded like I was saying it was ok to carry there, it is not and thats why I didnt. In no way did I mean to say I would condone carrying there, my apology for coming off wrong on my post.

Kinda thought you meant that. I wish they were more clear about "Professional Sporting Event" in the law.
