House has Sold, Texas, Here I come!
After 44 years living in what has become the socialist armpit of California, our house has sold, as of last week, and sometime this spring this Native Texan will once more be a resident of Texas.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

You do know that Texas is a whole 'nuther country--what part of the country?JALLEN wrote:After 44 years living in what has become the socialist hellhole of California, our house has sold, as of last week, and sometime this spring this Native Texan will once more be a resident of Texas.

We will be locating in the Canyon Lake, Spring Branch, Boerne area. I grew up in New Braunfels, a long, long time ago, and would prefer to live close to there but all the newer areas prohibit outside antennas, and I am an amateur radio operator of more than 50 years. Finding a suitable home free of that nonsense has been a lengthy process. I also need to be within an hour of the UT Medical Center in San Antonio where I have an appointment for a lung transplant in the indeterminate future, as I have pulmonary fibrosis.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Congratulations!
I became a resident of the Great State of Texas back in 1984 when my family moved here while I was in the Navy. I moved here in 1987 when I was discharged and can't imagine living anywhere else now.

Welcome home, pard'ner. As an employee of UT MD Anderson Cancer Ctr here in Houston, I can assure you you'll be in good hands. Good luck and all the best in your future.

Welcome home!
Please make sure any possible Commie-Kalifornia notions that could have inadvertently rubbed off in 44 years get left like discarded toilet paper as you exit that rathole.
