"Traveling" on a motorcycle

Unfortunatly the MPA law is going to be how it is interpreted by any LEO that you may have conact with until it reaches a DA or possible Judge to rule on. When I was waiting for my CHL to arrive I did not have my handgun with me when on the bike unless I was going to the range to shoot and even then it was in a bag attached to my sissy bar. It made no sense to me to carry it just when I was bike as outlined under MPA. Only in Hollywood can somebody draw and shoot from a moving 2 wheeler. Personally I would wait for your CHL to arrive, it is the cleanest way and could save you a ride with flashing lights.

Another alternative is to carry in a way that's not on or about his person. That way he has it if he's traveling with an overnight stay, if he's self employed and going to work, etc. Like you said, shooting while riding is Hollywood, and while the motor is running the throttle and brakes are usually a lot more useful to save your bacon.

Absolutely. I don't ride that much anymore and am going to sell my bike so I can get a shotgun and go to the range more often, but when I did ride and carry I never carried on my body. It was always in a tank bag right in front of me.

One reason I was pondering whether to keep it on me or on the motorcycle was because if the bike got jacked, or even if just the bag was snatched, they'd get the pistol as well. These are all hypotheticals perhaps, and I'm not as paranoid as this thread might sound, but I figure it's better to think through the various options.
