Bonnie & Clyde weapons sold for a small fortune

Post by seamusTX »

A Tommy gun and shotgun that were found in a hideout used by Bonnie and Clyde before their demise in 1934 were sold at auction in Kansas City for $210,000.

The buyer was not identified.

Usually these things are bought by wealthy people who donate them to museums (maybe after displaying them for while).

Wonder if the buyer had a valid Class 3 stamp for the Tommy Gun?

I have no idea how that stuff works.

The federal code is about transfer and possession. Probably the buyer can get the stamps after making a binding purchase agreement.

After paying 200 grand for the weapons, I don't doubt the buyer can afford the lawyers and paperwork.
