I suggest that she get back in touch with Kimber and have them e-mail her a shipping label that is pre-paid. The only manufacturer that I have seen who would not do this is Diamondback. She may have to push a bit but she should get it.

I second this thought. Most manufacturers of quality weapons will give in if asked nicely. Kahr will act like they don't do this but always give in if you ask them to send the label. I bet Kimber is no different. Kimber knows they sent out a stinker that needs fine tuning. That is an 1100 dollar piece. It should not have to go back for adjustments. I have always started out by telling them that myself and my family have always been purchasers of their products and that we always felt good about the quality. That usually will get a shipping label or number from them.

I've had Kel-Tec refuse to pay inbound shipping...even after the purchased-NIB firearm had to go back to them a second time. After two--expensive--trips to the manufacturer, I now trust the gun to be a dangerous implement only if thrown at a bad guy.

If you do ship by common carrier, you may want to visit their Website first and take a printout of their firearms policies with you. Even at company, non-franchise locations, they aren't always informed of their own policies and may try to refuse the shipment, or direct you to a company center many miles away. Been there, done that.
