Thoughts on the Walther PPS 9?

PPS has THREE separate safety mechanisms, plus two loaded chamber indicators, and possibly a magazine disconnect depending on model configuration:

The PPS features three safeties (trigger safety, internal firing pin safety and QuickSafe feature) of which the external integrated trigger safety inner lever mechanism contained within the trigger serves as an additional passive drop safety. The pistol has a loaded chamber indicator in the form of a witness opening at the top of the slide/ejection port. By looking into this opening the user can see if a cartridge is present in the chamber. [4]

i grew up with the rifles and shotguns that have the manual safety, "see red, and you're ready".

which made me feel really comfortable with the Beretta 92FS and the Bersa Thunder 380. my LCP is helping me break the habit. :)

i'm just saying the little trigger catch looked like a cheap plastic part. i'd think it'd be more substantial being the only safety BUILT INTO THE GUN. compared to the dozen things built into the LC9.

what are the chances they come out with a two tone PPS/9?

Two-tone PPS? From Walther, not likely. They don't seem to like colored guns. But, you can get it Duracoated at any number of places.. there's been pictures of a two-toned blue PPS if that trips your trigger!

Re: the trigger safety... I haven't heard of anyone who's had trouble with it, and if it were as cheap and fragile plastic as you're thinking of in your mind's eye, we probably would have. Seriously, I can't ever remember anyone reporting a problem with it. It IS hooked up - I verified that to my own satisfaction

i dunno. there's all sorts of styles of the PPK. the PK380 has a nickel top. and you can even get the P22 in camo.
