Tritium Big Dot sights or 3 dots ??

anyone using tritium sights ? specifically the big dot "dot the eye" type ? any opinions ? pros /cons ..
id like to upgrade to some tritium night sights and came across these

just curious ....dont own anything tritium. kinda wanna try em but then found even more options ....

All of my pistols have Tritium 3 dots. The standard ones but with white outlines. That way if/when the Tritium stops working, the sights will still be usable by the white circles. Standard lifetime on the vials is 10-15 years. Although some have lasted 20 and one gun I bought new already had a dead front when I got it from the dealer.

The big dots are good for folks that really have an eyesight problem. I'm not that far along yet.....

Unless you are shooting bullseye, there's really no need to have sights at all. Pistols are really for close range work and Cowboys seldom used sights. They learned by using instinct and practiced a lot.

I've had my eye on those sights for my Browning. Thanks for providing the link...I was going to order them from XS but Midway is $12.00 cheaper.

I currently have HIVIZ sights. Couldn't find a picture of the exact ones, but these are similar. They're not bright at all and are pretty flimsy...after about a year of daily carry one of the mounts on the front sight broke and the little green tube disappeared. It was actually an improvement since now there's just a small circle in front to aim with, but I need to replace it quick because it's bugging the heck out of me.

I have both types of sights. Most of my guns are the standard Trijicon three dot night sights. But my M&P340 snubbie has a big dot tritium sight on the front with a basic notch type rear sight, and I have to say that it is the easiest, most natural sight picture to acquire of all of my pistols.

I'm going to second TAM's opinion. I've got Novak 3 dot on my Colt Rail Gun. Tritium 3 dot on my wife's SIG P229 and XS Small Dot night sights on my Glock 29. The Colt's great for precise hole punching, but I much prefer the Glock's XS sights for rapid acquisition. She won't hold as small a group for me as the Colt, but for fast shots, she'll put them within a 4" ring with barely a thought to anything more than 'see the dot, make the hole'.

XS big dots on the ones with night sights as of now. It doesn't seem like a good setup for an accurate shot at first glance but I make hits that surprise me sometimes. I say try em out XS made in TX as well.

+1 on XS Big Dot. Put them on my G27 and much easier to pick up target on follow up shots and easy to see in low light. So far i like them and would recommend.

I've got Big Dots on all of my carry guns. Personally, three dot sights give me a sight picture that's too busy. I have tried a tritium dot front/tritium bar rear initially on my G27 until they faded then it got Big Dots. I'd also be willing to consider the Heinie 8's or Ameriglo Pro i-dots.

Yeap, XS Big Dot sights for me too; very quick - and can be accurate if you put the front sight circle on top of the rear 'V' sight, then index off of the top of the front sight. There some instructions to that effect from XS that probably explain it better than I have.

TAM - do you mean you use a regular notch rear sight (rather than the XS v-shaped rear sight) together with the big dot front ? Where do you put the front sight in relation to the rear posts ? Interesting configuration - I might try that myself.
