A gun, a knife and a boot used in Beaumont assault

Post by MoJo »

News of the weird? Darn I'm glad I wasn't there - - -

A case of road rage led to several people being assaulted in Beaumont this afternoon.

Beaumont Police Officer Veronica Payton says that incident began when man driving on Dowlen Road, near Parkdale Mall, cut off another man just before 2:30.

The two men began yelling and gesturing at each other, causing them to wreck in front of the Super Walmart.

The two men then got out of their vehicles and began fist fighting.

Officer Payton says a man, a woman and the woman's mother pulled up and tried break up the fight.

All five continued to argue, until the situation escalated and one of the men pulled out a hand gun.

The woman then took off a boot she was wearing and swung it at the man with the gun, only to hit her own mother.

Officer Payton says the gunman then hit the woman with the boot in head with his gun, causing her partner to pull out a pocket knife.

That's when the officers arrived.

The two women went to the hospital to be checked out and all five people agreed to go to the Beaumont police station for questioning.

Officer Payton says detectives are questioning all five and at this point no charges have been filed against anybody. The man with the gun did have a license to carry a concealed firearm.

Sure glad he didn't take my class. :ack: Of course he would have known he couldn't do that. :rules:

Plenty of unanswered questions as usual but there certainly appears to be some very poor judgement used.

An assumption might be made that the men were not wearing shirts,
or if this was a formal day for them, they had their wifebeaters on. :-)

Was there something odd in the air that day?

The one line I would have expected in the story would be "Alcohol may have been involved".
If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

:hurry: Update: The CHL holder was ran off the road, while fighting off two men, the knife was pull when the girlfriend entered the fight then disarmed by the CHL holder. No charges were filled against the CHL holder.
The firearm was not pulled until a leathal threat(knife) surfaced.
It's good to know the whole story before passing judgement.
