Bud's Gunshop Question (Update)

...Davidson's Gallery of Guns never mentioned insurance when we ordered...shipped overnight...I don't understand why a buyer needs to buy insurance for something that's not yet been in their possession...seems right that it's between the wholesaler and the shipper till the FFL signs upon receiving it...is this a common practice now???

I have always felt that until the merchandise (whatever it may be) has been delivered to you, the contract has not been fulfilled. Those that require the buyer to purchase insurance seem to be treating it as if you took possession at their warehouse and they then became a shipping agent for you.
I suspect that if a gun did not arrive, the customer would still have a legitimate claim that the shop did not provide the goods for which compensation was given, especially considering that someone would have to account for that gun to BATFE.

Generally, title to the property is considered to have passed to the purchaser at the moment the shipper tenders the shipment to the freight company. There is a ton of transportation law and case law on this subject (I am in the freight business).

I got an e-mail this morning that my order had been 'moved to the shipping department'. It came with a notice that no changes to the order can be made at this time.

I am to receive an additional e-mail with tracking info. when it is actually shipped.

Recap: Ordered via phone on 02/01/2012. Processing status achieved 02/02/2012. Item sent to shipping 02/09/2012.

The wait begins....... Again......

My P-38 left Sparks NV last night, passed through Oakland CA this morning and is now in Louisville KY. It's supposed to be delivered to my FFL tomorrow.

The reason for this update is that, combined with my previous post, it shows that there is no way to tell where your item is really shipping from. It may not be Bud's fault for taking what seems like a long time.

I still can't complain. Everything happened well within the 3 to 7 business days I was told in the original email.

I know! It already upset it so badly it ran right past Texas and ended up in Kentucky!

Quick Update...
Reference the email from yesterday morning about it being moved to the shipping department.

The latest update still sitting in the shipping department.

I sure hope they ship a bunch of stuff on Friday afternoons.

This is bad as checking the DPS website for CHL updates. I sure remember that. I got mine quite a while back when it was taking just over 90 days.

I GOT IT !!!
After tracking/watching for what seemed forever, it got to my FFL yesterday (Monday) at lunch time. I made a fast trip, brought it home.

Did a field strip, wiped and swabbed and polished. It came with an additional grip, and it took me longer than it should to switch them out to see what fit the best. Yeah, it was the one that came on it. Love the Sigsights, but had to stand in the closet with the lights out to double check.

My local range is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I have to wait until tomorrow. Will it ever come?

That pretty much sums up my experienceS when ordering from Buds.

Their prices are usually pretty good and much of the shipping is free. My experience with them has been positive.
