That's nuthin'........ I carry an AR15 carbine in my left boot, and a pack howitzer in my right boot. I carry one extra round of 75mm HE in a smart carry.

If that's in your boot, I can't imagine what's in that big ol hat of yours..

I doubt that. The way TAM can turn a phrase, I suspect he'd have YOU doing all the paperwork... and ENJOYING IT!

since I do not pocket carry, and have no intention to start, I've "boot carried" for several years when dress code for the day required something other than IWB or OWB with a cover garment. I carried a KT P3AT for a long time, then got rid of everything .380 acp about three years ago. Since then, I've manager to squeeze a Kahr CW9 in, although not very comfortable. Last month, I finally found a CM9 loaclly and it's become my new "boot gun". I use a simple single clip IWB holster with the clip attached into the front "V" notch in the left boot top. Boot carry has been around for a long, long time, but has been made much more comfortable with the more modern micro and sub-sub-compact handguns.

so i tried my Crossbreed minituck with my CW9 and each clip actually fit in the front and back "v" of the boot. I can't say I loved it and walking was do-able but not ideal. I felt like the gun could ride up or the whole rig could come off the boot. It didn't but the whole thing flopped a little too much for me. Also, the CW9 was too long and hit my ankle bone. I think if I'm going to try this then a small .380 (i.e. LCP) in a dedicated ankle holster would work.

...I wouldn't just slide the clip over the top of the boot...it would very likely come off at some low level of activity...I put two slots through the boot and put the holster into the boot...threading the steel clip first out of and then back into one slot and then the other...it clipped on like it was a belt...would neither slip off nor fall out...took quite an effort to remove the clip...this held the gun securely and safely...and the holster stayed in the boot upon drawing...

...I don't know what your daily do entails, but mine was running, climbing buildings, crawling under shotgun houses, and other things that just clipping on the boot top wouldn't have held on for...to me, I'd have cut Tony Lama, Nocona, or even some real nice boots if that meant the revolver was there when I needed it...different strokes for different folks...as usual...and boots are replaceable...

we're getting down to the daily active work wear thing, and I fully understand your conditions now. Back when I wore cowboy boots for work needs (quite a few years ago), I would have had the same concerns about stability of the handgun, but I didn't wear expensive dress boots in the cowpens, hog barns, etc. Now, cutting into a pair of cheap ACME boots or worn out Justins back then... no problem . When I went 100% into land surveying some 35 years ago I had to give up the cowboy boots for 8" lace-ups as "work wear", but I still don't own a pair of dress-up shoes.

...I've never had nice boots...I think 1 pair of Tony Lamas, but no nicer than them...I wear Justin pull-on work boots now or lace-ups...someday I'd like one real nice pair...but there's a lotta things on the list ahead of 'em...most of them to fill my hand not fit my feet

A man's gotta have his Sunday-go-to-meetin' boots ... or at least his "buryin' boots" . I don't want no shoes in my box when I'm planted on the root side of the grass.
