Re: West Houston Shooters Club (WHIDPA) Multigun Match this
My wife and I are interested in watching a match sometime. What do we have to do to set this up? Any requirements from us?
Re: West Houston Shooters Club (WHIDPA) Multigun Match this
for West Houston, there are no requirement to watch other than having eye and ear protection.
If you think that you are interested, go to their website for dates and times of matches.
The first Sat in March will be the Sat match that is a larger event than the normal wed night but both will give you a good idea of what to expect.
Also they welcome new shooters to IDPA. Even if you have never shot an IDPA event, all the clubs in the area welcome you if you are a safe shooter. Come with the gear and ammo and show up a little early and let them know you are a new shooter. They will get you a safety briefing (reason to show up a little early) and let you know what is expected and the IDPA and range rules. The club will then pair you up with someone with experience so that you can shoot safe, have fun.....and come back. Best way is to come with your gun and gear in the bag, find someone in charge and let them walk you through. You will have a great time independent of what IDPA club in Houston you attend. All are great guys.

Thanks for the info Garry! My wife and I would like to participate but want to first just watch an event. We'll definitely attempt to attend the larger Saturday match you're talking about.

At that Sat match, look me up. I will be the old bald guy running around like crazy. I am the Match Director for that match and working to have it a good "tune up" for the Louisiana State match the following weekend.
