That's a good idea too. I really want a blackhawk to pair with my lever gun.

I have a Ruger Vaquero in .357 that goes with my Henry Big Boy in .357...nice pair of firearms, indeed.

Everyone needs a good 22 LR in their collection and a 1911 is always nice. But if it were me I'd do something with that Remington 700 you have sitting there. A new stock with bedding job, a trigger job, and a nice piece of glass would be where I'd be looking. Also one can never have to much ammunition.

Lots of ammo, and don't just hoard it, go to the range and shoot some of it up. Practice, practice, practice.
Basic operation of your weapon(s) should become as natural as picking up and answering your cell phone. Loading, safeties (mechanical safeties as well as the important safety between your ears), clearing jams, etc.

As far as other guns, you've got the bases covered but I'll go along with what others have suggested. I good .38/357 revo is always good to have around. (I need to add one to my collection as well.) If you ever need to arm a friend quickly, it's something most people can operate without you having to explain it to them.

Maybe a tiny pocket gun. Some folks think they're next to useless, but I think they're far better than the larger gun you left at home because it was too big for your wardrobe or activities that day. They can also serve as a backup to a larger gun.

gigag04 suggested a semi-auto .308. :thumbs2:
A Springfield M1A is high on my wishlist.

Revolver would be nice and maybe a russian something.ak/sks/mosin. 22 pistols in roughly same size and weight as your carry and one in BUG size. Boxes and boxes of 22 ammo. Practice practice. :fire

A revolver would be on the short list but number one would definitely be a good 22 rifle. A Ruger 10/22 or Marlin 60 would be good choices or Savage bolt action. If you don't mind spending a little more, a CZ 452 would be even better. They are great guns and well worth the price, IMO.

Another idea would be to spend the money to buy reloading equipment.

I have a feeling anything "evil black rifle" is gonna start jumping in price as we crawl towards November. So if you do want an AK, get it soon before prices get stupid again.

I doubt the revolvers and .22s will see as big of a price jump. Just another thought.

I love mine. Not all that expensive (though I guess it might be kinda high for a .22). I think I paid about four and a half for this one. I had one that I had to sell when I was broke. Another of the same model was my first acquisition when I started rebuilding my collection. It's set up for small-bore silhouette competition, but a lower power scope mounted closer to the bore and it would be an excellent hunting rifle (for little critters).

It is lacking absolutely nothing. Basically, you need 4 guns;
1 handgun for self-defense, concealed carry
1 high powered rifle for hunting deer, hog, and other large game
1 22lr rifle for hunting rabbits, squirrel, and other small game
1 shotgun for hunting ducks, dove, and other birds

If you really had a hole burning in your pockets, you can buy a very small pocket gun for times when your wardrobe cannot conceal any other gun. For example, if you're in your swim trunks with no shirt, you'll need a small 22 lr or 38 special (depending on your size swim trunk pockets) with shrouded hammer sealed in a vacuum seal food storage bag. You can pull the trigger through the waterproof bag and the revolver will shoot through it. Autos won't work this way because the bag will cause autos to jam.

Having a really small and extremely concealable gun is also helpful if you have to go somewhere that guns are a gray area. This is where it is legal but you'll still be arrested if discovered. For example, the airport's unsecured areas, school parking lots, etc. After all, cops are not lawyers so you really can't expect them to know the law (not a dis to police but a fact. after all if cops were lawyers, what would lawyers need to go to law school for?). In other words, you'll beat the rap but not the ride in a Shamu.

So, the only thing you'll really need is a pocket gun like a .380, 22lr, or 38 special.

P.s. yeah, you need a 22lr bolt action rifle like savage or cz452. bolt action is more reliable for unreliable rimfire and can shoot subsonics which are quiet shooters. This is essential if you don't want to wake the neighbors. Subsonics won't cycle reliably in autos.
