My thoughts exactly. OP, I was the same as you, but I just searched online and found massive amounts of information on various reputable forums and such. I'd say read, read and read and it'll slowly start coming together.

What is a good lower receiver to buy? The rifle will mainly be used for range, and thousands of rounds.

You've mentioned this twice and it's caught my eye. Thousands of rounds for what? Just the range? Bench, or move and shoot? Hunting? Every barrel out there is capable of shooting thousands of rounds (barring a rare defect). The use case is really going to determine the build. Not round count.

My family owns property, and there aere hogs. So, if any hunting it would be just that. Yes, also mainly bench.

Aero Precision makes lowers for Spikes, Palmetto State, and a few others, they are quality and inexpesive depending on whose roll mark is on them.
