MLB was the one that said the Astros could not use the pistol on the jersey. It was not the Astros call. MLB had a change of heart after recieving numerous complaints from Astros fans. They decided they would leave it up to the Astros to decide if the pistol will be on the jersey or not. The Astros announced yesterday the pistol will be on the uniforms for the games they play on 4/10 and 4/20.Story Here

I don't understand your response, since the decision that was made was to wear the authentic jersey with the 'pistol'.
Then I completely misunderstood the link in the OP. It inferred that the pistol would not be on the new jerseys...
Glad that they will be using the oginial design then.
