Que card to use after an event

Post by goose »

I was reading the thread about what to say after an event. ( viewtopic.php?f=26&t=45759" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) That breaks down into two elements, the call to 911 and the conversation with law enforcement when they arrive. Believing that LE doesn’t make statements until later due to adrenaline, etc, I accept that I will be equally affected. What is the thought on keeping a que card in your wallet next to your CHL for use if you have to make that call? Would this appear too staged if a DA wanted to say that the que card showed some version of intent, looking to be a cowboy, Rambo-ism?

Granted, I can practice and memorize what I want to say but if said adrenaline is flowing would I actually remember to say what I had practiced? Would a que card be prudent? I was thinking just a business card sized thing with 911 on one side and LE on the other. And maybe a lawyers # as well. I have read that [Pre-paid legal service] gives a card out but didn’t know if that was true. If they do then maybe it answers the prudent question.

IMO, yes. Just remember the basics; call 911 and ask for police and ambulance, don't be holding the smoking gun when the cops arrive, tell them the basics you told the 911 operator, and then clam up.

i agree.

Tell the 911 operator to get police and EMS there ASAP.

"I was in fear for my life and i stopped the threat" should be the only thing you tell the LEO.

Thank you all for your thoughts. I need to just work on remembering what I should say if that day ever comes.

As for que vs cue, I didn't catch that google had corrected me, I just saw the returned definition. I spell horribly. Should have known.

They do, and I paraphrase except for inside quotations: To any LEO's: (some legalese about the US and Texas Constitutions) "Any questioning of this individual must be immediately suspended and shall be continued only in the presence of and with the advice of legal counsel."

To reiterate, make sure the threat is neutralized, call 911 - only say your name, location, send police and ambulance, and that you are a victim of a crime. Call your lawyer, put your weapon in a safe place, don't disturb the scene, comply with LEO's but remain silent.

BTW I see you're a recent member. Welcome. My most recent year and half old granddaughter has been nicknamed "Goose" by her mom and dad. I don't know why but I think it's neat.

Btw, don't join USCCA - everything of value you would get form this forum.

Get a card that says "¿Qué?" and keep repeating that until your lawyer gets there.

That's interesting...anyone know more about this? Have it or have used it maybe? It seems too good to be true and we know what that means.
