Find out if Chief will sign off on Class III?
Dumb question, but would it be in poor taste to contact my local PD Chief and ask him if he will sign off on Class III toys? Is there a proper protocol for something like this?

if your in harris, galveston, brazoria county forget it. I had sean cody in houston do a trust for me. Much easier and bypasses the whole signature/pictures/fingerprint requirements every time you want to buy somthing.

The CLEO signature is supposed to be a thing of the past, if not now soon. But personally I'd go the trust route.

Which department? I've heard San Antonio is a non- starter. Not sure which department in Bulverde - sheriff?

i dont think they approved they yet did they? also you would need finger prints and pictures which is annoying too.

If you are using a local to you Class III dealer they may be able to help you. When I bought mine many moons ago the dealer knew the local chief and that he was sign off friendly, he gave the chief a heads-up that I would be calling, it was a smooth deal.pbwalker wrote:Dumb question, but would it be in poor taste to contact my local PD Chief and ask him if he will sign off on Class III toys? I'm not sure of the status of the sign off requirement going away but that will be great!!

I used Nick Tilotta at Western Firearms Co. (http://www.westernfirearms.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).ajwakeboarder wrote:PUCKER, what dealer did you use if you don't mind me asking?
