Firearms Purchase

Post by DSARGE »

I recently bought a Taurus snub nose .357--sweet little gun. When I went to pay, I handed the guy my Texas DL and my CHL. He said "this is the easy way". Pardon my ignorance, but does the CHL take the place of thier usual background checks?

Yes sir. Having a CHL you have already had all your background checks done by the state and that piece of plastic says that you're an okay dude.

Your CHL application has two background checks, one by Texas DPS and one by FBI. You still have to fill out the paperork, but additional background checks are unnecessary.

Even better, because being a LEO doesn't get you out of NICS.

Just gives you a warm fuzzy feeling don't it? I purchased a Smith 38 at the gun show a few months back anf the debit card machine was not working and
the fella told me take the gun and go he'd run the card later. I told him he was sure a trusting person and he replied " You have a CHL I know you not going to risk your license over a little 38 Special"

I felt special.

Why do you think I got my CHL at the first place? They delayed my purchase of a M4 for 4 days. With CHL, it's instant.

Please help the wounded store owner who fought off 3 robbers. He doesn't have medical insurance.

hopefully, it was so you could legally carry a handgun. otherwise, that's a lot of money just to get guns sooner!

course, I know you're being facitious, but still.
