Day 62...guess I'll join you guys....

Post by GalaxyFE »

Well, here it is....day 62 and I'm still "Processing Application". My timeline so far:

Mailed to DPS: Dec 29
Status Changed from "Packet Mailed" to "Incomplete": Feb 8
Status Changed from "Incomplete" to "Processing": Feb 12

So, I got the letter saying incomplete because I didn't send a copy of orders or LES (military pay stub) substantiating my discount for military (couldn't find anywhere that was required, but whatever). I called and asked if I could FAX and the said "Yes". So FAXed that day the info and called to see if they got it. They did and the tech told me that it would change to "Processing" which it did the next day. They also said "Technically the 60 days would start over, but not really." Anyone else have this before and if so, how long before you got it?

I am SOOOO ready to get my nachos at Wally-World...

Welcome aboard, GalaxyFE. Looking forward to visiting with you here.

Hopefully the plastic will arrive soon. Don't sweat it and spend some time reading up here, there's a wealth of good information and discussions.

I mailed my in 1 day before you, Dec. 28th, and got my plastic 2 days ago. I didn't have any delays in my processing though. I also think the time it takes depends on how many counties you have lived in in the last 5 years. If they have to check several counties it might take it longer. Me, I've lived in Tarrant County since 1990 so not much to check there.

Good luck!

Oh, I'm jealous. I can't stay off the DPS site. I know since I moved around, that it can take longer, but geez. I am going on a roadtrip to GA at the end of the month, so I am really hoping to have it in hand before I go. That pesky Alabama, you know.

So I couldn't take it anymore, so I called DPS. I was told that the application is complete, and will be mailed in a couple of days. The website still says "processing", but I am assuming that the tech didn't lie, so maybe I will get to do the Wally Walk this weekend!!!! Woohoo!
