Rock River 1911 in the works with a twist

Don't know if this has been posted or not. A friend told me Rock River was making a polymer framed 1911. Maybe sacrilege to do that, but who knows?

I would buy it. Love my Glocks, Sigs and Kimbers...a couple of RRAs might be a nice edition.

Wonder what the barrel-feet are gonna do to the frame.

I believe you're right; did some browsing around and it looks like they went a similiar route to STI, etc - a steel core with bolt-on polymer grip/trigger guard/dustcover combo. Probably saves about a half-pound in weight.
