Kimber Solo CDP with Crimson Trace Grip

I got to fondle one at my local GS. I must say it was really pretty, but it fails to attract me.

First, it was very slick with the carry melt, and the trigger pull was very nice, finish and fit were very good.

The negatives for me personally.

The trigger was made for someone with skinny little fingers the bottom end of it curved too far forward and it was uncomfortable to me.(poked my finger about a third up onto the pad)

The grip is too short to give up space for the Crimson Trace wrap around switch.

The safety was workable, but maybe shaved off a little too much.

I'm not a big CT fan anyways, but this one is useless to me on this little gun. I block it with my index finger until I go to the trigger. My buddy at the GS says "well, if you were in a defensive situation you would want your finger on the trigger anyways. Well, NO, not me. I train religiously on not going to the trigger until ready to fire.

Overall it's a cute little gun, I think the appeal and fit is better for a woman, however I doubt that most women would care for the recoil of a 9mm in this light package. I would probablly like it more without the laser grips, however at their asking price of $1225, I'll stick with my Ultra Stainless and my PF9.

Yup. I tried putting a set on my Ultra and came to the same conclusion. I will block the laser everytime.

Sold the grips and bought a pair of VZ's instead.

I've had my first Solo for just over a year now. My wife and I have over 500 trouble free rounds through it. We picked up a second one about 6 months ago and have about 300 rounds through it now.

I don't have the CT on it as I'm not really a fan of CT. I did put custom grips on both of them.

My wife loves the gun and is her go to carry gun. She has so much confidence in it. Probobly because she has so much experience shooting it. Of the 800 she has put over 500 through it.

This little gun is easy to carry.. I did carry a LCP before I got this and now it just gets to sit around in the safe..

I do think the trigger is smooth but will cause you a little problem to get used to.. now it is just natural to me.

I have found the slide is a little hard to pull back.

That's a pretty pistol. I am sure without the CT grips it is better.
