Purchased First Gun
I purchased my first gun today.
Hubby and I went to gun show to look and see what I might want to carry for my EDC. I looked at the PX4 storm, the SR9C, glock 19 and the XD9 compact. In anticipation of me learning to shoot better and possibly get my CHL, hubby had already bought me a .38 and a kel-tec9. I took my class finally and used his XD 40 to take my test, which i did very well and really like shooting. I thought that for my EDC that I wanted something else, so this is why we went to the gun show. I decided on the XD9C and bought a belly band so that a could start practicing carrying at home and getting used to concealing until my CHL comes comes in, hopefully by the end of the month Once we got home I brought out all the guns and began trying each one in the belly band. I have decided that I like carrying the original .38 the best for that particular carry method.
hubby is a pouting now saying we could have spent the $ that we spent on the XD9 on something new for him.
I still got a new gun even if Its not the one a am going to carry everyday.

Whatever, lol. I guess I can carry it some if you don't.

I am looking at the XD9 for my EDC. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the XD9 at the gun show? I may go tomorrow.

Different clothes require different shoes--and guns! You have to have a complete wardrobe!

The lowest we found it was for $388 at S.A.W. Husband and I were both impressed with the show. The most vendors we have seen at a show.

Pretty good deal on XD9, plus free shipping to your FFL.

I'm not in as good a shape as I used to be but I still like to wear form fitting clothes. I'm gonna have to buy a lot of new shirts and shorts in order to carry concealed. A size or two bigger.
Congrats on getting your soon to be CHL, the new gun, and the new wardrobe!!!

Re: Purchased First Gun
Not to hijack - and congrats on the new gun - that is always fun! However, maybe I am just not "typical". I have not had to really change my wardrobe to accommodate carry. I wear scrubs to work - belly band for those days. I wear a lot of jeans and tees or button downs; sometimes tucked. The biggest change I made was adding belts and finding shorts with belted waists instead of drawstring or just button without belt loops. I would almost rather go to the dentist than shop for clothes. I have not had to buy bigger sizes, but that may be because I am old and like my clothes to fit, but not skin tight.
