Keltec also offers a .22LR version called the PLR22. Both come with threaded barrels, so a suppressor would fix the noise problem while making the length closer to a rifle. The stock from one of the Keltec SU16 models can be used if you were to SBR it. And I would have to disagree on the overpenetration "issue" because .223 tends to tumble & lose energy quickly when it hits an obstacle. Since the barrel is so short, it wouldn't have quite as much energy as when fired from a rifle barrel.

I'm feeling you on the .357Mag lever action. I'm about to move to a farm & am strongly considering getting one of those to leave by the back door.

I'm in the camp that sees no point in a PCC other than as a fun gun. If I need to step up from my .45, I'll go with my AK in 7.62. With the stock folded, it's pretty compact and easy to carry. If I'm so close that I can't manuever it, well that's what a handgun is for. To me, the only worthwhile gun that fits between a handgun and a rifle is a SMG. Obviously, that's out of the question, and a PCC is a pretty poor substitute (Really, most PCCs are just nuetered SMGs.) All that being said, I would love to get an AR57 as a plinker. I suppose it could have limited useful applications, but I would view it first and foremost as a range toy.

I got my 9mm Hi-Point 995 for end of the world scenerios in urban defense. The big reason is it shoots same ammo as pistols so there is less stocking to do, has a 200fps higher muzzle velocity and longer site radius so it can reach out more accuratly than the pistols up to about 100yds.

I agree that the main purpose is fun. However, in some states - at least Indiana, if you want to deer hunt with a rifle it must be one in a handgun caliber. Deer hunting with rifles is not allowed, except muzzle loaders.

Makes little sense because during firearms session any handgun is allowed, even those that fire all the long range hand cannon type rounds.

last week I bought a used 7.5" Super Red Hawk (.44 mag), and now I see a real need for a pistol caliber carbine to go with it

My daily carry is a Glock 19, my truck gun is a SUB-2000 that uses the same mags, all the 15 round mags are gone in the pic and all are now 33 rounders. In the case folded it fits perfectly under the passenger seat of my truck, can be accessed quickly and I have over 200 rounds of protection that either gun can fire. Here's the disadvantage, I don't cary any other pistol now and I have some nice ones. :biggrinjester:
