Sending a pistol frame to a FFL gunsmith via USPS?

Post by Stupid »

Can I send a pistol frame to a FFL gunsmith via USPS?

I know I can't ship the whole pistol but can I ship just the frame?
Please help the wounded store owner who fought off 3 robbers. He doesn't have medical insurance.

I don't think so. The frame has the serial number and therefore it is the gun. Pistols aren't allowed through the USPS system.

USPS will ship FFL to FFL (legally). Pay the FFL on your end to ship and his ability to ship USPS will save you some money. :tiphat:

Nope.

You can't, but another FFL can and you can save some significant money having another FFL ship it for you.

FedEx and UPS will require that it be shipped overnight since the ATF considers the frame to be a firearm.

I do know that while UPS and FEDEX were insisting that us peons ship NDA, they offered deals to large quantity shippers. In most cases, they accepted 2nd Day Air only if shipped on Monday or Tuesday.

It would be nice if we were offered the same.
